Air Jordan XX8 “Elephant Print”

The Air Jordan XX8 is finally making a comeback and is featuring the Jordan Brand signature elephant print in two bold looks with the Air Jordan XX8 “Elephant Print”! This weekend, these two Quickstrikes and the AJV 3LAB5, together, join the legacy of Jordan sneakers to don the signature print for the print’s milestone 25th anniversary. The print first debuted in 1988 on the Air Jordan 3 and has continued to grace different silhouettes throughout the years. Now, the forwards, point guards, and shooting guards of the basketball world can enjoy a performance-focused sneaker in the brand’s distinctive print with a model created by the famous sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield.

Hatfield made these particular sneakers with the ultimate goal of elite performance and explosive on-court style. These Quickstrikes boast a new-age design and, on the performance end, is equipped with the highest level of technological advances of any Air Jordan model to date. The stretch textile sleeve, secured by a high performance zipper, works as support for the foot and presents a clean, modern look. This outer sleeve covers a Dynamic Fit system, which makes use of supportive straps to work with the midsole and laces, so that the shoe moves with the foot rather than simply being a piece of equipment. The Dynamic Fit system creates the ultimate lockdown fit and is supremely secure. Under the foot, a durable Phylon midsole contains Nike Zoom units in the heel and forefoot for a low-profile feel and a responsive but lightweight cushioning much needed in a basketball sneaker. For optimal performance, the Phylon midsole also incorporates a Jordon Flight plate which effectively elevates the responsiveness of the Zoom units by compressing and deflecting. Under the shoe, superior traction and support comes with the translucent rubber outsole that is detailed with a multi-directional pattern and an external carbon fiber heel contour.

The first elephant printed Quickstrike is a red on black pattern with black interior. The second is its brother with the same color distribution but with a grey on black pattern and a red interior and zipper tab. Both shoes feature a black and white foot bed/outer sole for a collected and clean look. Both options will be available at UBIQ Walnut for $250 starting this Saturday, September 21, 2013.
