Jordan 6 Rings “Bel-Air”

This year has been full of retro release surprises from Jordan Brand but they’ve also found a way to turn heads without relying on a popular retro model. Instead, they revealed a West Coast inspired collection as a tribute to the WB Sitcom from the 90s, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” This ‘Bel-Air’ collection started with the Air Jordan 5 Retro a couple weeks ago and they’re not done; they’ve got a plethora of silhouettes lined up to take on the name. This weekend, the ever-popular hybrid, the 6 Rings from Jordan, will now be getting the West Coast treatment. Forget the dougie, harlem shake, and twerking. Let me see you do the Carlton!!! The Jordan 6 Rings “Bel-Air” will be dropping this weekend at UBIQ Walnut.

Unlike the first installment of the collection, which used a cool grey base, this pair opts for a court purple all across its upper, making these 6 Rings even more colorful than the AJ5 Retro. Accents of Flash Lime hit the tongue, laces, and stitch detailing while Club Pink takes a step back to the heel pull-tab, heel Air Jordan embroidery branding, and minimal tongue piece accents. Black handles the rest of the upper and is also seen part of the sole unit. The new addition to this colorway is the blue that is barely seen on first glance because it’s mainly used as a mold for the bottom of the shoe. With all these colors on the shoe, it might be hard to overlook the continued use of floral designs on the inner lining, but it’s there! The 90’s inspired print takes a back seat in this shoe because Jordan Brand opted for a Flash Lime lining for most of the sock liner, but they did keep the floral in the tongue and heel lining.

Breaking down the shoe, this shoe is a compilation of each shoe that Michael Jordan wore for his six championship rings. This popular Jordan hybrid grabs the best of each shoe to create a thoroughly championship-bred sneaker. The upper of these Jordan 6 Rings “Bel-Air” is made with a combination of synthetic leather, premium full-grain leather and mesh. The patent leather, taken from the Air Jordan XI, gives the shoe a truly old school look that will never go out of style. Underneath is an Air Jordan XIII sole unit in a combination of white and black.

These Air Jordan 6 Rings “Bel-Air” sneakers will be available starting Saturday, October 19th at UBIQ Walnut for $160.
