Nike LeBron XI “King’s Pride”

Everyone has been patiently waiting, and it’s finally arrived; good ol’ number six has graced us with his latest offering. Out of all the shapes, heights, and silhouettes that James’ line has seen, they really seem to have hit the nail on the head with this one, giving us a low and lightweight shoe that has a totally unique flavor. The Nike LeBron XI “King’s Pride” is available at UBIQ on Saturday, October 12th, for $200. They hit the store at 10AM EST and will be online at 11AM EST.

The designers at Nike have used the “King’s Pride” colorway to give us a further look into LeBron’s fascinating on-court persona. The tight contrast between the Dark Loden upper and floral collar lining are meant to represent the lion and its surrounding wildlife. While the lion theme makes its way onto most of James’ signature kicks, new twists are always welcome. It features diamond cut Foamposite shapes and Hyperfuse seams throughout, combining the two popular technologies into a hybrid known as Hyperposite. Aside from a one-of-a-kind look, this also gives you the ability to move your foot freely without the restrictions of the past and an unrivaled ventilation system. They’ve added Flywire to further cut down on weight and to add extra strength where you’re going to need it, instead of spreading this support aimlessly all over the shoe.  Protection-wise you’ve got a layer of Lunarlon that sits on top of the two staple Zoom Air units that we’ve seen in previous installments of the line.

The intricate detailing on the “King’s Pride” is what really seals the deal. Seriously, just about everywhere you look there’s a well thought out (and perfectly placed) logo or symbol. The Swoosh features a modernized chainmail pattern, which upon further inspection is actually made up of a series of “L” and “J” clusters that repeat in graduating weights. The mesh tongue has prominent branding on the outside, and features a highlighted “XI” on the front that actually spells out the word “six” at the same time. Even the sockliner was given some love with a reversible label that reads “LeBron” when viewed upright and “James” when viewed upside down, a feature also adorns the box.
