For anyone who has ever been to the United Center in Chi Town to catch a Bulls game, most likely you’ve stopped to see the famous Micheal Jordan statue. If you looked closely at Mike’s feet, you may or may have noticed he’s wearing the Jordan IX, a shoe he has never worn during a regular NBA season game. As an ode to the famous statue, Jordan brand is releasing “The Statue” Air Jordan IX Retro. The color hits on the sneaker’s midsole, shoe collar, and eyestays are inspired by the bronze hue seen on the statue. Further, the upper is constructed entirely of smooth leather and the heel features an embroidered “23” also in bronze.
The Air Jordan 9 “The Statue” releases in-store only this Saturday, August 22 for $190. Please enter our raffle for a chance to purchase this sneaker on release day. The last day to enter is Wednesday, August 19th before 5PM. ***Entries are taken in-store only.
