Reebok Shaq Attaq ‘Big Shaqtus’
Pop Quiz! When did Shaquille O’Neal play for the Phoenix Suns? Bet you didn’t even remember that he was down in the sunny Phoenix, Arizona dessert for one season, unless you’re a Suns fan. Diesel played for teams like the Orlando Magics and the Los Angeles Lakers so Phoenix often gets out-shined with you think of Shaq’s career history. Well, Reebok is setting the record straight, reminding us of the 467 days that Shaq spent sweltering with the Suns during the 2008-2009 season, with the Reebok Shaq Attaq ‘Big Shaqtus’ which is set to release tomorrow for $160!
Featuring what might be one of the most aggressive colorways to release to date, the bold black, purple and orange colorway is as in-your-face as the big man himself. On the purple and orange build are rising sun graphics on the lining and heel swatches, for the Suns. But the tribute goes beyond the standard color treatment with the “big cactus” embroidered on the heel instead of the characteristic Shaq block logo. As for the build, the ‘Big Shaqtus’ has been created with the exact same specs at the original 1992 model. Why change something that is obviously perfect? Shaquille wore these throughout the 1992-1993 NBA season, on his way to Rookie of the Year honors with amazing per game averages.
The upper of this release is made with premium leather and synthetic overlays for assured fit and comfort. You’ll also find that the hsoe feature Reebok’s revolutionary tried-and-true PUMP technology and Hexalite cushioning. The iconic basketball big man might not have produced the championship Phoenix fans had hoped for, but his tenure with the Suns did create the inspiration for this retro.
The Shaq Attaq ‘ Big Shaqtus’ has already been previewed by Swizz Beats at the Reebok Classic Project Vegas Show in August and, despite the loud color scheme, these tones are sure to compliment any look for the cold weather seasons! Limited pairs will be available on Friday, October 4, 2013 for $160 in stores and online.
