Travi$ Scott does UBIQ Walnut

Up-and-coming Houston, Texas-based rapper, Travi$ Scott, stops by UBIQ Sunday at 12NOON for a meet & greet. We’re really psyched to have him come by the shop, so you know there’s gonna be some giveaways to celebrate. His appearance comes just a few hours before he takes the stage at the TLA for this year’s Philly stop of the Sneaker Pimps tour.

A man of many hats, Scott is not your average MC. Aside from being signed with T.I.’s Grand Hustle label as a rapper, he is also a key member of Kanye West’s GOOD Music production wing; serving as an in-house producer. Only active for a handful of years now, Scott’s work can be heard on a few key projects. The first source would be his own Owl Pharaoh release, which was finally released May 21st, 2013 despite a plethora of delays. The above video features a track off of this EP, entitled “Upper Echelon,” a song that finds him collaborating with both T.I. and 2 Chainz. Another good place to check out Scott’s work is the Cruel Summer compilation album released by GOOD Music. That project, spearheaded by label-head West, features many artists associated with the group, including our man.

Travi$ Scott has certainly been making a good impression and garnering attention from other artists. His list of collaborators goes on for days, and includes: Meek Mill, Wale, Toro y Moi, A$AP Ferg, Paul Wall, and the aforementioned T.I. and 2 Chainz. On top of all that, he was inducted into XXL’s illustrious Freshman Class of 2013 alongside Trinidad James, Action Bronson, AB-Soul, and Joey Bada$$. The future is definitely looking up for Scott, and this may be the last chance to meet him in any kind of intimate setting, so don’t miss out.
